Rebekah #234 was established August 22, 2011. Our goal is to provide an organization where spiritual women with high moral and social character can contribute time, energy and wisdom to The Order Of the Eastern Star with charity, truth and loving kindness. To appeal to the true beauty of the Order with refreshing and character building lessons that are portrayed in our ritualistic work. We will foster a deep Fraternal Bond between our members and the community. We aim to take good people and through uplifting and elevating associations of love and service, and through precept and example, build a chapter which is truly dedicated to charity, truth and loving kindness. Respect each other as Women and really try to practice the principles of Sisterhood.
REBEKAH
Genesis Chapters 24 - 27
The wife of Isaac. A woman of godly character but not without her human weaknesses.
Rebekah, inspired by nothing more than a caring heart, drew water, not only for the servant but also for his camel's. Supplying water for thirsty camels is a very demanding job.
Rebekah, who was described as very beautiful, put her self through a lot of hard work for no apparent gain. She was a woman of godly character. Something of great worth in God's sight (1 Peter 3:3-4).
As a woman of God, the greatest investment you can make in your life is that of a godly character (1 Timothy 4: 7-8). Let the word of God remould your life. It's in seeking God that you will find fulfilment(1 Timothy 6: 6). As you seek the kingdom of God all other things will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

In October of 1957, the LILLIAN GILL GRAND CHAPTER was chartered in Chicago and Sister Viola McVann was elected Grand Matron. The Grand Chapter is named after Daughter Lillian Gill. Daughter Gill is a cornerstone in the Organization. A former Grand Matron for the State of Michigan, Daughter Gill held a number of positions on the state and national levels. She was instrumental in the education of Sisters throughout the world in the IFAMM affiliation.
The foundation upon which the Lillian Gill Grand Chapter rests is the solid rock of fraternalism by past and present great leaders that are too numerous to name.
From a humble beginning our state has a current membership of over four hundred.

The record of the past is relevant only as we possess such maturity which teaches us from both the bitter and the sweet. It is a record of dreams, and deeds which bears the mark of Divine Providence. International Free & Accepted Modern Masons, Inc. and Order of the Eastern Star is a world-wide fraternity, was organized in 1950 by the late Dr. William V. Banks.
Dr. Banks was a very prominent Attorney and a Mason with very high ideals. His dream became a reality at the birth of this new Masonic Organization. Its purpose is to provide moral, financial benevolent and charitable leadership to serve this present age. This fraternal organization was incorporated and chartered in August of 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. This Charter empowered International Masons to practice Freemasonry, and operate as a Masonic Order, throughout the United States, its possessions and territories. This American issued charter empowers International Masons to the same rights as those charters issued directly from the Grand Lodge of England or the Grand Orient of France. Dr. Banks and his host of friends established a National Jurisdiction. Through their diligent efforts the same year, three States were incorporated: Ohio, New York and Illinois. Youth Chapters were added with authority vested similar to that in the adult constitution with the purpose of providing an apprentice work-shop for the young children and adolescents in the charitable work of the Masonic Body and to instill certain moral principles, as exemplified by the Holy Bible and other moral sciences, which are highly regarded by our Masonic Order. IFAMM and OES is now under the leadership of Illustrious James O. Dogan, Supreme President.
